Spicy Shrimp Tacos
Ingredients:
1 pound peeled and deveined shrimp
1 tablespoon olive oil
1/2 teaspoon chili powder
1/4 teaspoon cumin
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/8 teaspoon black pepper
1/8 teaspoon cayenne pepper (optional)
8 corn tortillas
Your favorite taco toppings, such as shredded cabbage, avocado, sour cream, and salsa
Instructions:
In a large bowl, combine the shrimp, olive oil, chili powder, cumin, salt, pepper, and cayenne pepper (if using). Toss to coat.
Heat a large skillet or grill pan over medium heat. Add the shrimp and cook for 2-3 minutes per side, or until pink and cooked through.
Warm the tortillas according to the package directions.
To assemble the tacos, place a shrimp in each tortilla and top with your favorite toppings. Serve immediately.
Here are some additional tips for making these tacos:
If you don't have cayenne pepper, you can use another hot pepper, such as habanero or jalapeño. Just be sure to adjust the amount to your taste.
For a more flavorful taco, you can marinate the shrimp for at least 30 minutes, or up to overnight.
If you don't have corn tortillas, you can use flour tortillas. Just be sure to warm them in the microwave for a few seconds before assembling the tacos.
Get creative with your toppings! There are endless possibilities. Some other ideas include pico de gallo, guacamole, shredded cheese, and black beans.
